tutorials?

hey, just wondering if you guys could point in the direction of some beginner modeling tutorials. I would like to start with some basic character and weapon modeling. i am not a beginner with 3d max, but i am far from proficent with it, so any beginner tutorials would be welcome

You might try this book-long tutorial: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...nce&s=books (this is for Max 7) There is one for Max 6 also. It's not perfect and the author misses the opportunity to show you some things like model optimization for animation, but it's a basic walk through of modeling, rigging, and animating in 3DS Max aimed at the artist who is "far from proficient with it."
