WoW texturemap manipulation

Hey guys, I've been wanting to fool around with some of the texturemaps in WoW for awhile now. They are encrypted; can someone please tell me how to crack into the skins and modify them?

well that screen shot shows it viewing interface textures. will it actually open model textures?

yes, instead of opening the interface.mpq, you'd open up the texture.mpq

Texture changes are only viewable on the manipulator's machine; I doubt there's much of a way it can be detected by the server. But I have read of recent instances where changing a texture and reimporting it has caused WoW to break, so there may be some kind of integrity check by the prog itself.

Most MMO's perform integrity checks, mostly after patching but sometimes they seem to do it for no apparent reason...

I don't think there can be any practical texture cheating (after all, visibility and quick action isn't part of what makes MMORPGs what they are) in WOW but Blizzard will probably still shoot you down.

WoW is more "action" then most mmo's. And in pvp you can hide behind a tree or something but if i make alpha maps for trees that you can see through etc. and force enemy races be bright colored and maps be grey then you can gain lots from it...
