Max 7.1 SP and Normal Mapping

Just wondering if anyone has installed the new service pack for Max and tried creating some normal maps. There's supposed to be some bug fixes for it, and I know some people here have had trouble with normal maps in the past. Hopefully, it's all fixed now and we don't have to use a third party program anymore.

Hi, it has fixed the weird glitches I was having - the readme file does mention it, although it says it has been 'improved' not 'works the way it should have when we released 7'.

Hi,

I was using Kaldera (www.mankua.com) before the projection mapping was added in Max 7. I still use it since I find the workflow a bit quicker than Max's projection mapping.

Glad to hear at least one thing was fixed. Although I wonder how many other things were broken in the process.

Has anyone had system errors after installing it and trying to get render to texture to work?
