Skytthen polygon
Hello everyone!!
I’m starting a new project. This time I’m going to work on a realistic organic prop. And to do that, I’ve decided to make a backpack. To be more specific, I’ve chosen this concept, which is from Far Cry 6.
With this project, I want to improve my organic modelling skills.
I hope you like it!!

    Hi everyone!!
This week I’ve been working on a solid blockout of the backpack to get the hard-surface parts right and establish a good foundation for the more organic parts.
That way, I can transfer them to ZBrush confident that the proportions are correct.
There’s still work to be done in ZBrush, but here’s a sneak peek at how it’s coming along.
    I hope you like it!!

    Hello everyone!!
This week I’ve been finishing the high-poly model. I then moved on to retopologising the organic parts, whilst leaving the hard-surface parts at mid-poly. I also created the UVs, settling on 6 UVs in the end. And I’ve carried out the first bake tests.
    I hope you like it!

    Hi everyone!!
This week I’ve been working on texturing the backpack. I’ve gone through the different stages: primary materials, secondary materials, details, and finally, wear and tear.
I also did a quick test to see how it would look in an environment. There’s still work to be done, though.
    I hope you like it!!

Love the material variation + specifically weathering as well and didn't actually realise it's frame would be polymer, really nice touch.

    Hi, everyone!!
This project has come to an end.
This week I’ve been working on the final renders.
I’ve been rendering in Marmoset and using those renders for the breakdowns and the turntable. I’ve also been rendering in Unreal and placing the models in a natural environment to provide more context and storytelling.
I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it!!
