WTB: Substance Painter / Substance Designer Perpetual Commercial License (EU)

We are looking to acquire a legitimate perpetual commercial license for Substance Painter and/or Substance Designer (preferably 2020-era Allegorithmic or early Adobe perpetual releases).

We are specifically interested in Pro/commercial licenses with complete documentation and clear ownership history.

Requirements:

  • Perpetual (non-subscription) license

  • Commercial / Pro edition

  • Original purchaser identifiable

  • Original invoice/receipt available

  • License key/serial available

  • Offline installer(s) available (if applicable)

  • EU/EEA origin preferred

Information needed:

  • Product(s) and version

  • License type (Pro / Commercial)

  • Purchase date and country

  • Availability of invoice and installers

  • Asking price

We are looking for a properly documented transfer of a perpetual license with clear chain of ownership.

Budget: €1,000–4,000 depending on version, documentation, and whether Painter + Designer are included together.

    Or you could just buy the Adobe Substance Painter Perpetual versions on Steam - you can't upgrade them, but they're perpetual. Unless there's something stopping you from doing that, of course.

    Particularly looking for the older version permanent pro versions (~2020-2021) in Europe. The Steam Perpetual has EULA problems for my specific usage.

    Wouldn't this have to be a license someone bought 5-6 years ago and never activated? I'm not aware of a way to trade an active license through steam, and I think Algorithmic was shut down wholesale after Adobe took over.

    Take this with a grain of salt, but in the EU, you can resell perpetual licenses, and with existing key/serial that shouldn't be a problem. Adobe, for all its faults, usually does honor these kinds of things (looking at you, Autodesk*) and the legal obligations will have passed on to them from Allegorithmic. I haven't tried recently, but about 2 years ago, I was still able to activate my Photoshop CS5 based on a 20 years old CS2 license.

    That should be true for Steam as well (although the OP isn't asking for a Steam license), but they are arguing that the licenses are tied to your Steam account, which might not hold up in court forever.

    *To clarify: They did allow resales, but they refuse to reactivate older licenses, at least officially.

    Steam version is non-transferable, as it falls under the software subscription version.

    I am looking for something compatible with the 'Directive 2009/24/EC Article 4(2) Case C-128/11 UsedSoft vs Oracle' if interested in the legal details. EU only, I know that it does not apply to any other location, but for my usage that is what I need.

    Allegorithmic 2017-2022 pro version era with offline installers and offline license keys kits falls under that category.

    Note: the license CAN be activated in the past
    Note2: i do not want to get into a lot of legal intricacies since that is not what I require, but yes, it is completely legal and protected by EU law

    FWIW, the odd thing about the request is the bizarre requirement of documentation. This makes it sound as if whoever is formulating the request isn't familiar with what they are looking for, since the software features an online help.



    For the record the documentation link redirects to https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/substance-3d/general-knowledge/home , and the shader and scripting docs are installed locally with the software.
