had to get my cat euthanised on my birthday today ( least i won't forget when she died) lovely cat, 17 and a half but she had kidney failure
poor pinky. it's weird because when I started my last contract 3 months ago, my other cat almost died, but she is fine now( touch wood)
never thought Pinky would die first
I posted on Polycount back in 2007/2008 about my other cat dying ( Mr Aero) then we got 2 new kittens
Time marches on
not really after sympathy , just wanted to post something

yeah she was a bit fesity at times, but she was really sweet.
great mouse catcher, compared to her sister who makes friends with them :)

    Sorry to hear, man.

We have a strident mouser, who we have to watch carefully now since she has a tendency to throw up the remains on the carpet in the middle of the night, ugh.

    We demand more cat pics!

cheers Eric, yeah pinky liked to leave us little presents near the bed or in the living room. Bobbi is totally mouse friendy. she once brought a mouse that Pinky had already killed, as if it was hers :) but apart from that hasn't caught one mouse in 17 years
Bobbi has diabetes, but she is ok right now

This last one is Bobbi with the brown nose, she is 17 and a half too, but this was taken in east london when she was about 2 years old. she is not too well, but just about hanging on.

sorry to hear man.  your cat had amazing fur :)
ours had kidney failure, one was twice as big as the other and readings were basically off the charts.

Cats are unique little beings, with whole interior lives going on. We’re just lucky to have them.

Dang sacboi i saw a kitty like this around my way and i was like heck yah that is a kool looking cat.

Few months ago the street cats had 2 sets of kittens from the same male and the people below me took them in to raise them before setting them free into the wild world.  First time hearing and seeing a cat with no tail rather a nub and that trait was passed down to some of the kittens.
They had 10 in total, 3 passed from what i heard last, its helpful that they "produce", if your main cat is getting of that age.

There was a situation recently i came across about the store pet foods causing issues with pets, idk if anyone is interested in that stuff but yeah might stem from a lot of losses though so i thought to mention it for other pet owners, i do not have any pets.

My pops got salt water fishes, i enjoy the neighborhood pets when they go for walks otherwise i probably wouldn't trust myself with any.  Neat little thread, sadly more about the passing's (sucks to hear/read) but hopefully the memories cheers people up.  Have a good one.

i forget, maybe I had one of their toys or was wiggling my hands around, it's an older photo. WuWu got bigger   Here they are this afternoon. Not sure if I'll get new dogs when they pass. On one hand, it'll be easier to travel, on the other they're precious, despite turning my stereo speakers to mono...

Sorry for your loss Mike. Pets occupy such a special place in our hearts. The pain of their loss is the price we have to pay for unconditional love I guess, but hold onto those 17.5 you got to share with Pinky.  <3

So sorry for your loss.  :'( Loosing pets is really tough, I can understand how you feel. My own little feline passed 2 years ago, we spent 14 years together but cancer got him. Still miss him and still undecided if I should get another cat or not.

Hold on to the memories, remember the good times!

At least I have my young crazy rocket labrador to keep me company.

thnaks @jStins - thanks for the symathy, appreciate it
Vastra- sorry to hear. Its been nearly a week and I still fell a bit messed up tbh. we still have our other cat mrs bobbi, but she is pretty ill too( they were twins) - my other cat had cancer, caused by feline aids, he was only 14
I think we might move abroad at some point, so might not get any pets for a while, but I have had cats and dogs all my life, so its hard not to get another one.

    I'm in tears writing this...

Actually your beautiful post reminded me to update Meeka's details with Central Animal Records which I'd finally completed today as deceased, tbh I've dreaded to do since her passing because previous owners had her micro-chipped. Now if memory serves was only by chance when initially found as a stray, I at first heard faint meowing from under my then land lady's BBQ deck eight years ago, near death fur heavily matted and severely malnourished so didn't think she'd survive much longer but anyway left food out just in case. Miraculously it would seem survived following few days, later on eventually caught her then promptly off to the local vet for a checkup. In AUS it's routine if a lost animal/pet is carrying a valid chip, once scanned also where possible original owners are then notified for either possible return or consent given to forego pet's responsibility, happily in my case latter occurred. After speaking with her previous owner, turns out at that time was 3yo when she went missing for over two years just 10mins away other side of town, they were about to move inter-state so were happy to leave Meeka (aka Buttons  :) ) with me. Getting some tips from my Mother, a life long pet /cat lady person simply due to the fact I've never owned a pet myself, we gradually learned to get along, well I think more so me the 'lone wolf' archetype sort of bloke that I am...anyhow @jStins nailed how I've felt throughout the period since "The pain of their loss is the price we have to pay for unconditional love"

...an ode too my little girl  <3 <3 <3

the last video is lovely. yeah i am trying to remember my cat how she was when she was healthy. trying to do lots of 3d stuff to
take my mind off it, but it still sucks after a week. I am bit of a soft bugger really :)
we had a cat named smutty, years ago and she was not allowed outside becase she would literally go beserk, had the energy of a speed freak on red bull :)
unfortunately after I went off it uni, she went to live with my mum and her partner, tried to cross the road and got run over. she was only 6 or 7
had this horrible feeling that she was heading over the road to come and look for me :/
My dad found her in durham city, living with a gang of punks in a squat. (he ended up painting the place )  and they left the cat behind. they used to carry her around on their shoulders, so she used to  jump on ours too, digging her claws in :) love cats man, seriously
