I've only just been browsing and posting after a 10 year hiatus from here, and i keep on having the experience of wanting to share something cool I'm working on, but then I can't use a webM here, so i'll usually go back to my discord dens to share things, or if i really want to, i'll have to convert it to a low quality gif.

Has forum technology progressed? Is this something that's possible now?

I h8 them, just my own feels towards ts creation, i get why it was done, but i dislike its non-user friendliness from my own experience.

Have to convert them every-time or find extensions to allow me to save jpg/png's. If it is implemented as long as i can have options to save if i wanted to save said images, i rather not have to do the extra steps to make it the extension i want. //just an opinion post, feel free to completely ignore.

MP4 videos can be embedded, if you rename the extension to GIFV, see GIFV support on Polycount!

No worries. I had to test it out, after you asked. The company that makes our forum software recently made the switch to not allowing http embeds (only https is allowed now), so I had to test that out too, and update those threads. Anyhow, glad it works for you. I also tried webm, but that's not supported sadly. Gifv/mp4 is required.
