what is layout in terms of animation?

I need help I guess understanding what would be considered a "layout shot" and what would be considered "just blocking"
I've seen some artists on LinkedIn posting their layout work and to me all the character animation is just blocking with fluid camera movement. I'd like to try it myself but I wouldn't want to just do a blocking pass and have someone say that it isn't really "layout" work
