Disclaimer: As much as I would like to have athread with many likes, the following are a LOOOOT of images, so lets not explode the news page by giving these image heavy threads some likes.

Hey guys, as many have already heard. pretty much all unpublished projects by Phoenix Labs have been canned. And sadly this time it also has hit us. We worked on Project Dragon for about 3 years, with about 42 people in some capacity. 25 artists at a time max, doing vis-dev, env exploration, prop concepts, key set pieces, 3D character, prop & env work.

As you can imagine we created a TONNNN of things during that time, I will use this thread to post the artwork that we have created. As thanks to Phoenix Labs we are able to showcase the work we have done here. Thanks to all the great people we got to work with and the leadership at PL to let this happen. Usually as many here know, content like this just disappears... So if it can't become a product, we hope it can be inspirational at least!

kewl i am overloaded atm with the imgs so i'll come back when better rested, the scarecrows were cool.

Came back:

loved it all, would've loved to have worked on something like this, i love the customizability of it all, in the character select screen and mount especially. Very cool very fun looking i don't understand why it wasn't published, micro-transaction attempted title? only guess, probably a bad one.

of course you wont be reading all that, it will be tricky to find the little text hidden between all the images! :P

but yeah such a pity this project was cancelled, for 3 years it was one of my highlights of the week to look at the stuff that has been worked on.

I'd assume its all belonging to Phoenix Labs parent company Forte.

lot of fun designs. it's kind of depressing to see such amount of work not put to any use. but at least the artist can show it off and i'm sure it was fun to work on. i wonder if the assets could ever be sold in any capacity?

updated 1st post, also thought of something but it seems the owners would benefit from it if it is what they might do with the project/assets, which was to take unreleased or halted projects and go and pay some animators and voice actors to generate a show for youtube or similar streaming platforms and build the world and story out of all of that. Even if for 1 season at least it would "regenerate" some sort of income, hey there is an idea in the void for anyone/team in need.
