How do you limit the emissive glow in a scene?

Whenever I use the emissive effect it will cause the whole scene to glow instead of just the thing that should glow. For example lets say you have a lightsaber since thats something we're all familiar with. You want the blade portion to glow, but not the hilt or the person holding it. The only thing I've discovers thus far to kinda get to it work is to disable the skylight as that will stop everything else from getting the glow, but I need that to properly light the scene.

Got any tips?

Can you post an example shot? Hard to know what exactly the issue may be without a visual.

My guess is, you may have to ramp up the emissive intensity higher, so the bloom responds to it the way it ought to.

What I had been doing was messing with the emission slider and bloom effect under the camera settings to make the glow stronger because it wasn't bright enough when maxed out. Every tutorial and forum post I ran into on this issue said to do those two things but it still wasn't working the way I wanted it to. Also how did you get your emission intensity cut to 25? The slider only goes up to 10.

In marmoset, you can almost always manually enter a number, if there's a field for it. You can set emissive intensity to 50000 if you want, there's no cap.

I see. How did you get yours though to emit the glow without getting it to affect everything else?

By increasing the material's glow past the limit, the bloom is "activated" by it sooner, making other bright things in the scene less bright by comparison. So those other objects shouldn't glow anymore.

Set the object's glow really high, past the limit, then play around with those bloom settings again.
