Methods to shape low poly wolf ears??

I've followed a pretty good beginner tutorial for modelling low poly animals. I decided to model a wolf. Doing the ears seems to be the part where I'm stumped. This could be a super easy fix but I'll still post for any pointers I can get. Any help would be much appreciated! (also the model has a mirror modifier if that has any relevance)

you are creating a lowpoly, why the focus on quad only and letting loops run all the way around the mesh?

I'm relatively new to modelling so I'm bound to get some of this stuff wrong. I guess your saying it's just too hight poly?

if the ear is meant to rotate very much as an animation it may be worthwhile to select that edge loop at the bottom, bevel it, and then you can add some more loops inside of that if needed after some testing.

if it will fold down, just some more loops along the length will do fine.

i think the way you have the topology just with more horizontal edge loops as needed for animation is a good way to do it.

right now i'd say search for some simpler modelling tutorials and just follow them. i know its tempting to go all in, but feels like you lack a bit of basics and some experience.
