Palm bark in designer?

Hi!
I am currently playing around trying to create the bark on a palm tree, and I was wondering if anyone has any good way for creating those big shapes? I've been trying to play with shape and a tile sampler, but haven't gotten any good results yet.

my first thought was "shapewise looks similar to some sand dunes things i have seen done in designer" so i googled for it, then i googled for substance designer palm bark and found a bunch of good things to start with.
I would use circle shape with gradient and ten put them in tile generator with offset 0.5. That will give you basic shape.
