Max strip Length in Zbrush 'topology" pane for auto inserting connections?

Looking through this old zbrush manual retopo tool with zsphere I discovered that max strip length thing I never cared about before.

From what quick help/tip it says Zbrush should automatically connect points of retopo and this slider is for how many of them at ones.

That feature never worked for me. Like never ever at all . I never saw Zbrush autoinsert connecting lines on its own. Am I missing something?

Have it for anybody?

i am not quite sure what you are struggling with. if i remember the feature correctly. it only works with quad shapes, the opposing sides have to have the same amount of verts. if you go around you quad clockwise with sides A,B,C,D you need to do something like this

    A: 5 verts

    B: 3 verts

    C: 5 verts

    D: 3 verts

then it can fill the part accordingly

but thats like a bazillion years back, might have been updated since.

Thanks, but I still have no idea what are you talking about. No auto-inserting of connection lines at all . Wish there would be a video on youtube about that.

It's just one guy told me Zbrush has a nice manual retopo on it's own and I am trying to figure out what have I missed.
