Help - SubD Acting strange between 2 Vertices

Hello everyone, I'm sure there is an easy solution to this and I'm just kinda stupid, but can you explain me why this happens to me?
The edge is completely straight there without the subD and for some reason these 2 verts just go close to each other in a weird way like this when I'm doing subD?

delete both vertices and rebuild it

most likely some unclean modeling with double edges or something like that

if you did a mirror that will sometimes (usually) leave stray vertices left over. If you turn on vertex mode you might see it. What you are seeing is that vertex having influence on the smoothing.

as others have said - this is because there's a few extra vertexes in there - one way to fix this is to select the vertexes in that area and do a weld/fuse on the vertexes with a small radius so it doesn't weld the wrong things.

That's just Mayas old double edges problem (where a set of 2 verts share more then 1 edge). With the menu set to modeling go to mesh > cleanup.
