Brush stroke in zbrush looks rough/jagged/pixelated even when I hit control D multiple times

Why does my standard brush stroke in zbrush 2021 look so rough/jagged/pixelated even when I hit control D multiple times to increase subdivisions? If anyone knows how to fix this I would really appreciate the help.
I have attached a screenshot showing the instructor's version from the tutorial and mine.
