Easy Channel Packing Tool

Hi guys, i always wanted a simple tool for channel packing and extraction. So i made this one, and i'm sharing it for free.

It's really simple, one of my goals is that with it can explain the concept of channel packing easier for the artists, and make them able to do it.

You can also use it to rearrange the channels of a texture.

Visual studio, c#, windows forms

Soon i will update it, we make it run a lot faster now.

That's pretty cool given that I haven't found an app other than Photoshop (and I tried Krita, Affinity and possibly others) that would just enable me to properly make channel packed textures.

I normally use SD though.

You can pack them directly in SD

Gosh, took me a while to understand that SD is Substance Designer, I'm really slow today.
Yeah you can. But sometimes I'm using a computer without it..

Nice!! I've been looking for a tool like this for quite some time. I remember doing it rather manually in Unity.
Any idea as to why Windows Defender is detecting it as a virus?

I happy to hear that. I got no clue, i'm really newbie in develop windows applications... But maybe because i didnt add any info about the software or to the help menu, will try that later.
We made drag'n drop working now!

Hi guys, i just updated the tool on gumroad.

Now it has Drag'n drop, inverted option, more responsive UI and much improved performance. 4k images are taking about one third of the time.

Thanks a lot for the update. Any chance we could pls save out final channel packed image as 32 bit tga? UE4 has issues with png and maps loaded in alpha channel.

I think tga is a little tricky, but i will take a look.
