  I almost want to say backfaces interpenetrating itself on the high poly. But if it doesn't show up on the AO map, I half doubt its that.

  with the padding around the hole, looks more like raymisses to me.

  if it is in fact interpenetratingbackfaces, in your zbrush file, turn the mesh to double and check if some backside is clipping through. but this is a fat rock, not a thin shelled object, so it would be surprising to me

  I just deleted the poligon and rebuilt it in topogun so this kind of fixed it, I am still not sure what caused it though.
