[WIP] Aylah/ Helen Mirren Likeness

I have been working on this character for a while now as part of Georgian Avasilcutei's mentorship. My goals were to get better with realistic character workflows mainly hair and marvelous designer. I am starting off with a likeness of Helen Mirren for the face/hair and then I am going to build out the character concept. The hair is still very WIP a bunch of gaps to fill there. Let me know if you have any feedback. Here is the concept by Wouter Gort and some WIP images:

Have all of the major forms blocked in need to take a pass at filling in the gaps and making sure the density is correct. There hairstyle I am using as ref is pretty sparse though. Here is latest plus the ref:

Update on the hair. Just refining silhouette and filling in gaps. Did a little bit better lighting pass.

A lot of tweaking to the silhouette. Started adding loose strands and flyaways. Hoping to have the hair done by the end of the week.

I realize her hair is thinning out in the ref but I would still give her a fuller head of hair for aesthetic reasons. That aside, she's looking pretty good! Could be as easy as painting strands onto her scalp to blend the bald areas with the cards.

@slosh - Yeah I agree. I was trying to match the ref as closely as possible, but now I am filling in some gaps to make it look a bit nicer.

Still some more work on the hair, but it's almost there. In the meantime have been testing out some renders in the Marmo 4 beta. Managed to get some really nice upgrades on the skin. There is a bug with SSS and hair cards right now. I left SSS off so the hair isn't looking as good as it could.

@Ruz - haha yeah it is, just much older.
Mostly finished with the hair noticing some things with the silhouette I want to fix up. Planning on a necklace and some earring for the likeness. After that just a bit of posing and I will call the likeness done and move on to the rest of the character.

Finished off the likeness portion of this. More videos and images over on my artstation. Really happy with the finish on this can't wait to dive into the rest of the character.

Started on the body for the full character. Did a scan copy and retopoed a basemesh. Mostly blocking in anatomy now and fixing up general proportions.

Small update. Finally feel like I have a handle on Marvelous. Got the clothes all cleaned up for sculpting. I have areas blocked off for the kneepads and belts in Marvelous, but I haven't made them yet.

@JamesBrisnehan the necklace was only for the likeness portion. It won’t be on the final character.
