sooooo my bakes are turning janky. I used that ray distance calculator thing in Xnormals and played with the ray distances in SD, got the same results. I seriously don't know what to do .

Until an expert arrives. In a modelling program check mesh integrity by running a test mesh.

looks to me more like highpoly and lowpoly are not in the same spot.

or either hi and low poly have their faces randomly flipped

Yup. Just to test import the hipoly file you used for baking into the scene where you made the lowpoly and check the position and scale matches.

Thanks for all the replies , it means a lot to me. But i found out that my UV unwrap sucked and it messed up the bake , Noob Problems 101
