Best way to setup scene

I'm new to 3d. i'm working on a bedroom scene and i want know what is the best way to setup the scene. Should i create a cube, and create the room in the cube, or just create a floor plane and one wall that is in the camera view.

Depends on what you're rendering in. Either should be fine depending on how you want to light the scene.

Only make what you're sure you're going to use. If, when rendering, you realize you need a wall/roof/window/whatever in order to work with your lighting, it wouldn't take too long to throw together a quick mesh for that.
