Are mods for games acceptable on portfolios?

Basically what the title says. Is it acceptable if you have for example armor, prop or weapon mods you've made for existing games showing on your portfolio? I honestly cannot think of a reason why not and can think of a few reasons why it might actually be beneficial, but since I'm not yet a part of the industry I might be completely wrong on the issue. Just checking to be sure.

If you're asking for mods in general then no, not all mods use assets created from scratch. If you're asking for mods I personally intend to make then yes, they would be made completely from scratch to fit with the style and quality of the original game.

Absolutely. If anything, a 3D asset that you've got integrated, both technically and aesthetically, into an existing game will be viewed more positively than the same asset shown in Marmoset or a non-playable Unreal scene.

Yep, in fact creating mods used to be one of the most common ways to get into the industry. Just make sure when showing off your work that you're very clear on what parts you made vs what was already in the game.
