  I am not sure exactly what it is you're showing here to be honest. You have provided no information or links. Is this a tool you made? Is it just you playing with booleans?

  Looks like a basic version of BoxCutter for Blender to me. But I agree with zachagreg, what's your point?

  It's a good exercise to write your own boolean tools, particularly if you're doing all the math yourself. But just fyi, there are several scripts that do the same thing in Maya already ("SpeedCut" and "BoolS" both come to mind).
