Im making a video game, how much is the gun triangle or vertex limit

Hello,

I'm currently modelling my assets but how much was DOOM 4's weapon triangle count, how many vertex was in there gun? Because I'm gonna try make the same vertex count since DOOM 4 runs fine in my computer. Also how much is the current gun vertex or triangle limit in this generation of fps games.

Triangle count doesn't matter too much these days, its the shaders and lighting that typically kill performance.
That said, they were probably around 10-15k triangles, but you could get away with less depending on the angles the gun will be viewed from: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0d153

Just make your models look good, then if you need help optimizing them you post your wireframes and UV's in the 3d showcase section and people will help you.

You could have 300,000 triangles per gun and the game will still run fine. There is many other factors that are more important. The important thing is to not waste memory on things that won't make a difference is all.

Yeah if you show your wireframes and UV's and state what your target is, and you are posting on a regular basis, there is people who can help point out what you can do better. It's just people helping people, not like a service or anything.

Yeah just make a new thread with your work in 3d section and ask for specific advice. If you are anxious to show your work to other artist and ask for advice, how will you deliver a game to an audience? Gamers are mean as hell. You got to get used to sharing your work.
