Going to be working to add more highlights and detail, then move onto the landscape and foreground before I progress with foliage and the background elements

@rxr9 Thank you, currently just Blender and Substance Painter, probably could have used Blender for texturing too however but decided on Substance due to familiarity!

Got to work on more texture details, although the main shot doesn't tend itself well to micro-detail so I won't be spending tooo much time.

Going to move onto foliage elements, especially the grass which will be crucial to the scene - ideally with a few sets where I can tweak and modify color to match the landscape colors.

Will most likely revisit the pathway texturing too

I know its a little nit picky, but could you make the axe head a little thicker? The bottom part of the axe head in the concept catches a lot of light and draws the eye in. You could also make the axe bigger, and bend the handle more to make it more dynamic.

@Ashervisalis not nit picky at all, thanks for the feedback, I agree a ton, at first I thought it was the angle, but I'm definitely going to resize the front log section and the axe in particular, also I think the angle of the slope is a bit off too!

Colors feel a bit off after importing into UE4, definitely going to need another pass over the textures, moderately updated the axe in the front but it still needs some work!

going to do another pass on the textures, then revisit the foliage and move onto the backdrop before I start adding trees

@Ashervisalis ahhh I love those tutorials, been using them for a lot of my previous trees - not sure if a lot of the material tricks will work with this, as its a really simple unlit shader - so a lot of the normal tricks barely work since it's not using light data anyway.

I may just approach it with a rough painterly style the way Tim has in the concept, will see how it looks in 3D though may come out weird - might take a few iterations xD

Huge compression crunch with this GIF

- Trees need some major retexture work, and need to consider the angle looking from below is an odd angle for pine trees, definitely going to redo !

Also need to add the smoke, was thinking of creating a card animation set to keep the style of it

Would be nice if you added a bunch more trees to the far left and right (circled in red), to give it that dense forest feel. I also think you could reduce global illumination to darken the shadows slightly.

@Ashervisalis definitely agreed with that! the gif actually crumples the color in that area, there's quite a few more - but I will make it more dense!
