[WIP] Ihagee Ultrix Camera

Hey guys, I haven't posted on here in years, and my skills have gotten rusty as a result, so here's the first of many projects. I decided to model this old camera as it has some shapes in it that I think will be really challenging to tackle, and this will be a good first step to tackling more complex objects later on. I'll post the blockout shortly, as its almost finished.

Here's the finished block out. I'm probably going to use most of this as a starting point for the high poly. I'll post more probably later today.

Update on the high poly: body is mostly finished, as well as the folding arms. I need to fix the area where the rings for the handle attach before the next post.

High poly is almost finished. I am not sure how to proceed with the lens, I would like to make it look as realistic as possible, so I'll probably look for some reference to help finish that off. If nothing else, I can just do about as much as you can see in the reference photos I found. There's still a lot of work to do to get the level of detail that I would like for the high poly, and now that I'm looking at it, some areas that could use a little love.

I had to find some more reference to finish the viewfinder and several other parts that I was finding difficult to work on from the images I had. I also noticed that I had missed quite a few small details, such as the shape of the plate above the lens, as well as some small sliders and switches.

Progress Update: this is as much as I've gotten done today, I don't know why, but the viewfinder proved to be a little more difficult than I thought it would be.

I finally got some free time to work so I busted out the bulk of the remaining work. The lens interior is modeled based on some old diagrams I found online. I have a few small details to add and the high poly will be done. I would really appreciate some feedback if anyone has any.

So I left the country for a little while to travel and forgot to finish this up. I finished the High poly, and am working on knocking out the low. I'm aiming for sub 7k tris for the low. The remainder of the detail, such as the grooves around the lens, I'm going to paint into the normal map. Here's the finished high poly:

Update: Low poly is finished, just need to do mat ID's and set up baking groups. Here's a few shots of the low with the wireframe on.

Bakes! I've run the first round of bakes and they're looking pretty good. I've got some scalloping that I need to fix, but for first bakes, I'm pretty happy.
