I'm not a character artist, but i think he is too "blobby", as if he's a sand castle. Could look different with some more skin detail though (pores and wrinkles).

Thanks for your response, I agree that I still have to refine the skin, which shows to much of the brush stroke. The fact is that I'm not sure if I'm going with just a clay render or if I should make a realistic skin.

@Fodenn Maybe just do the height first, and if you're still motivated add the skin color later?
