Hello Polycount people,

long time no see

In past two and half years I been working on Star Citizen as a Weapons Artist and here is some of my work I have completed for Cloud Imperium Games.

are those with unique texture sheets or are you using the same approach as you do with the ships with decals and so on? -

Would also like to know if decal and bevel edged approach. Amazing work. Also someone put out awhile back how SC does materials, and the shader is getting an upgrade soon. Does that change the way you implement materials now?

As he answered to a comment on his artstation: the weapons don't have unique bakes, instead they use custom normals and have parallax decals here and there.

@Next these do have unique texture sheets for AO , wearmaps and dirtmaps, but yes we are using decal sheets to add parallax and "diffuse" decals

@AlefinWariner yes same as ships, its bevelled and using parallax decals

@Mehran Khan it depends, but usually a couple of weeks

Whoa really nice! A couple of things. 1. Would you post some texture sheets? I would love to see your layout. 2. What did you capture the renders in? Marmoset or in the game's engine?

All these guns use shared library of textures so there is not really any some sort of "main texture sheet". These are captured in Cryengine / Lumberyard

Yep, helps a lot! As far as the shared library of textures, are you basically kit-bashing in a way then with the design?
