Hand painted textures without any drawing skills whatsoever?

Hey guys, I really like the stylized look of assets and wanted to try hand painting textures for a while but I don't really know where to begin. Will I be able to do it without any drawing skills? I literally have 2 left hands when it comes to drawing. I'm not talking about some elaborate textures, just some basic weapon texturing or maybe wood planks or stone wall or something like that.

Yes, drawing skills will come in handy later on as complexity progresses but for now learning the workflow basics should suffice;

You can always sculpt it/model it, bake it down, work with gradient maps and such, and paint over it to stylize it.
