[HELP]. Way to cleanup curves in Maya?

  select the curve you want to simplify and then go to "Curves">"Rebuild", click on the Options-Box to set up the behavior of the "Rebuild" tool ... play around with the settings and you should get the desired result :-)

  I'd separate the curves, so that you have straight curve on the side and curvy on top/bot, and then use the Rebuild tool. Otherwise you might get undesired results.
  
  For the straight curve, Rebuild Type - Uniform, Number of spans 1 and Degree Linear.
  
  If you want, for the curvy curve same thing can be applied, just use Cubic Degree.
  
  If you're looking to build a polygonal surface out of that, it's easier to use the Loft command (or Birail) with these settings. It keeps your history in a way that you can manipulate the selected curve as much as you would want. In your case I would Loft the top and bottom curve or just duplicate one and select them both and do the command then.

  thanks guys, i know about rebuild option, but is not working right.  I need just script that determining  3 points lie on the same line. If yes -  then delete middle point.
