Matching artist's etchings and burnishing

Hi there I work for a university that wants a local artist's sculptures digitiised to be displayed in a Hololens.
The problem is how do I match the etchings and burnishing in the real sculpture, see here...

One method of adding the etchings and burnishing would be using the projection tool.
