Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and have been lurking for a while. I was just wondering if someone could take a look at my portfolio and would appreciate to get some critique from all you wonderful artists here. Here is a link to my portfolio...

Hey man, it is great that you have moved on from being a lurker!

I can say right of the bat you are missing any info about you on the about page and no resume. You need that information to say something about you, no one will take your portfolio seriously, if you do not yourself give it some pretty standard stuff when it comes to work application.

When it comes to your work, there are some stuff lacking as of now. You clearly know how to model some basic stuff, but the subject matters lack from proper anatomy, interesting presentation and in general quality that is not up to par with a AAA finished character.

I would say start a new project on the forum, or join the artstation challenge, and take on something smaller. Try to make a bust, or a really simple character from an already set design. The goal should be to finish something to a super high quality and that would be a great start to your portfolio. And you should also start tackling anatomy studying. But as of now none of your pieces are up to par in my opinion for a gig as a character artist.

You have a good foundation to build from though, so id say you should focus on practising and make some smaller projects as of now. If you pull through and practice hard it will show, and you will eventually be able to get hired.

    Good luck man!

Thanks for the critique Nuclear Angel. As far as the info that you're saying, are you talking about the artstation page or the polycount page?

Got to keep getting better then.

Nah in general on your artstation as I dont think employers look at your polycount profile.

Just get a resume up there and some info about yourself should cover it!

"Got to keep getting better then." The best thing you ever should say to yourself as an artist! ;)

I see. Regarding my Info on Artstation, I'm not sure what to put though since my previous work experience are all Architecture Industry related and not even arch viz. I'm trying to shift my skill set to Game Art.

Well the benefit id see with that background is that you show that you have work experience. Showing you are someone who have at least held a job before, that is way more than some university gradients. So put it up there, it is pretty cool that you have worked in the Architecture industry!

Also then after you got some more practice in and you are making amazing art it will be even more impressive, as you made a career shift and that will show motivation.
