Selling 3d models

Hi,

I am a bit clueless as to what license i should be attributing to my 3d models: what license would i attribute to my models if i want to hold the rights (that allow me to use the model commercially) but also allow others who have paid for it to use it commercially too?

CC - Creative Commons, if wholly your own original work otherwise if an existing commercial product/item then definitly seek the manufacturer's permission or copyright holder.

they are more architectural environment pieces based on existing old buildings, does that count?

Here's a bit of layman detail as it relates to photography. Under US law, buildings created before December 1, 1990 are essentially free use in regard to copyrighting of photos. I would get advice from an IP lawyer, but I would argue that you're in the clear, since 3d models are as virtual as a photograph. The only infringement I can think of is if an estate is also selling copyrighted models or tangible memorabilia of a building.
