They’re (sometimes) skilled in the following:

figure drawing
anatomy
creature design
zoology
costume design
sewing
fashion design
still life drawing and panting

Keep in mind concept art in general is a very though field to get in. Just look up some of the concept artists on artstation. So having a very strong art foundation to build up is important. The things Brian mentioned are the key skills those you ask about are just ways of working, which you can probably learn within an hour. I mean the concepts behind it are simple, problem is they are experience heavy skills that require a great eye for art and some very good drawing skills.
