Help needed My head is spinning

Dear Animators,
This is my WIP - a noisemaker spinning its head until it losses balance. I'm not sure I conveyed how heavy the head is and also struggling with the losing balance part at the end. Any advice?

Heavy things take a lot of energy to get moving and a lot of energy/friction to slow down. You could look up reference of body builders doing squats, deadlifts, shotput. Even something like a cabre toss. When weight is causing a balance shift you try to even out the weight by centering it over your center of gravity.
Looking up a drunk person stumbling can help as well. Usually their top half is leading the action and causing the weight to be off balance and the legs try to catch up and get under the now shifted center of gravity.
I was looking at some hammer throwing videos and tried to act it out. I guess analyzing the reference is also a skill I have to develop.
