[Maya] Grow along Ring

So in Maya 2017/18 they finally added the Grow/Shrink along Loop function, thank God. I haven't been able to find some script or native function that does the same thing for Rings though. Do you guys know anything I could use for this? I currently have a script that replicates Max' Dot Ring function, but it's not the same as simply Growing.

Hmmm for some reason I cant download it here at the office, maybe it's a setting in these machines. I'll try at home later.
Still, while I can see the script being super useful for selecting every Nth element, I don't think it covers the Grow Ring function, mainly because you can use the latter for a selection of multiple elements, whereas with this script (correct me if I'm wrong), you can't.
Something like this:
Am I making sense? Now in this example I know in Maya it could be far easier to select stuff in an ortho side view, then deselect unneeded stuff from a top view...But with more complex meshes (architectural environment art for example), this method can sometimes prove to be even more troublesome. Best way would be to select the one edge in the middle of your ring selection...and just grow.
This script here has that feature along with some other great options.
