Hello Polycount

I am starting a new project and would like to post wips hoping to get some critique back. Here we go!

For this fist stage I got the anatomy down using the basemesh of Leslie, I think I'm happy with the result and will move on to the cloths, props etc.

I started with the clothes, trying to get them as close as the concept but I had to made some minor changes like the ponytail (:

The face and hands needs a lot more love than what they have currently. I feel like you spend way too much time detailing a body we will never see while these two other body parts will be seen and are really underwhelming at the moment.

I agree with you I haven't touch the face "body" features as much just because I want to have more elements down so I can then commit to the face which is the most important element in my opinion. I will totally get back to both @Felixenfeu Thanks for the feedback (:

As for the body I understand I put too much time on it and we will never see it but I was thinking maybe I can put some time on it and later on use it as a basemesh that I can modified or something.

I get that stylization of the back arch is a big thing these days, but the nude figure here doesn't appear to adhere to the more reserved proportions in the concept art. I'm not gonna make a call one way or the other about giving her slimmer, sexier proportions, but there's some wonky anatomy in the nude version and her face is nothing like the concept. Just make sure if you're deviating from the concept art that you're doing it knowingly and making conscious decisions as to where and why (like you did with the ponytail).

Just a thought for the future. I doubt you need to go back to the nude figure since you're on to clothing, but just something in general to consider.

@mutatedjellyfish ; . Whenever I deviate from a concept I give priority to what works, for example the ponytail looks great in a 2D scenario but once translated into 3D I found that it was clipping with the "neck fur, hat" there wasn't enough room for it, second the bow wouldn't looked good clipping with the pony tail on the back you know?. Because is a personal project I wanted to have some artistic freedom but I totally understand that if the character is for a game or client then would definitely stay close to the concept. Thank you so much for the valuable feedback i'll keep it in consideration cheers!

Nice job!
Only some style stuff that could be put down to personal taste: the trouser bottoms are puffed in the concept and the cheeks are very full. I like the upper part of the body you modeled but missing the anchors on the concept. The polytail could rest on the fur I think.

In final pose right hand is a little bit odd, maybe if she held her knife it will be better. Anyway great character, very stylish, great looking eyes... and one more thing... where is her quiver?

Yeah, agree, her right hand looks sort of frog-ish because the finger tips are larger than the rest of the finger. Otherwise great job!

She could hold her knife handle or maybe arm up, hand near eyes, like “looking out”....blocking sun?

The execution and presentation are great, but as pointed out it would probably help to pose the right hand a bit differently, also a quiver would add to the silhouette nicely. Still, great work

EDIT: Mind posting your texture flats too?

@Torch Hey man! Thank you for the feedback, the model was for a challenge and I couldn't finish the quiver but I totally agree it would be so cool if she had one
