I'm missing the man eating part, but the paint job looks really good.

good point, Some scale reference other then the IBL would be helpful in this scenario. maybe more vicious mouth area? I plan on putting it in UE4 soon and adding more details. Thank you for your feedback.

The materials seem way too uniform. Skin shares the same shininess as the claws, etc.

Unfortunately you picked a rather harmless looking creature. Even if you showed it as the size of a man's leg, it would still look more like a pet lol. Probably need to change the mouth area at least, possibly more of it.
