(WIP) Druid Staff (Shameless WoW/Blizzard fanart because I like it)

The idea here was to make an "Emerald Nightmare" re-interpretation of an old WoW Druid staff concept by John Polidora. Re-design by me with major assistance by Lloyd Hoshide (https://www.artstation.com/lloydo6)

Would love to hear any feedback/suggestions! Currently in the texturing phase, and would love to hear any feedback!

This looks great! Can't wait to see this textured, Im gonna need this for my druid lol.

One critique I have is that it looks a little bit short compared to typical staves I've seen in WoW and similar games. Maybe consider extending the bottom a little bit

Looks amazing, The only crit I would give is that if you intend to use it in a game, I think it would work better up close than on a distance (Such as 3p) since the high-frequency detail is so dense. Not really a positive nor negative feedback, just an observation.

Thank you! And yeah, i definitely agree that high frequency detail might be a bit high. I'm hoping once materials and colors are more defined itll make a lot more sense in terms of readability. If it's still too busy once textured ill probably just reduce the contrast on all the high frequency detail or remove it altogether where needed. Thanks for your feedback!

LOVE the model....yet the current coloring is a little all over the place for me...you working from concept for the colors? Would be stronger if straps were different material/value/color (contrasted) and the main mesh colors were more or less one solid gradient from bold color and details on top to natural stone/wood/metal for handle. (my eye doesn't know where to go). Everything is important!!! (Approach with less is more, figure out first read; where you want the viewer to look first...then second....and so on.)

@pixelpatron Thank you for the feedback! I wholeheartedly agree. The tricky part i'm running into is that I'm trying to create the asset in a WoW lore-specific style, "the emerald nightmare" which uses blues and dark grays for the wood and the signature bold red spikes.
And yes, im working from a concept (left is original WoW concept by John polidora, right is my re-design, middle is refinement and paintover by my friend Lloyd Hoshide):

Finally got some time to do another pass on this guy. Still feeling unsure about color balance and contrast. I think I've stared at it for too long to be able to judge it objectively. Any feedback would be really appreciated!

I think the color balance is gorgeous and extremely visually appealing. Maybe you can get a little darker with the browns to make the straps pop more? Only thing i can think of.
