Here's a little chest i made to try out some stylized shapes but with more real-ish materials. Modeled in maya. Sculpted in Zbrush Core. Material work in Quixel Suite.

really cool design, would love to see more material differentiation though. the wood and metals are looking pretty much identical.

@lotet Totally. It needs some separation for sure. I'm toying with multiple metal tones and a more red/darker wood. It needs some oomph for sure.

Because of the squid/kraken motif, I think it would look cool if you made the wood look damp/rotting as if its spent a lot of time in sea water.

Looks really cool! Seconding the damp/rotting wood idea, I think its a great opportunity to add in some nice complimenting colour tones.

@Buchananball Thanks! Yeah it needs something. The idea for the chest was more DnD mindflayer though and not Sea creature. I'ma think about it though.

@Blade113 Thanks! I did a quick sketch.. When i do stuff for myself sometimes i like to do little thumbnails. You can see it below. It's not too pretty ;P
