Great work as always, Thanks for the breakdown as well!
is that a new workflow or just different? I remember a breakdown you did a while back, of a bunch of life studies at least that what I think it was, there where naked ladies) which used a different workflow more similar to how you do render passes in 3D.
@lotet - Hey dude! I think I remember you from conceptartdotorg! Vi är båda svenska, eller hur? Thanks for the kind words, glad you like! This workflow is regarding the DRAWING/SKETCH only, which is different from what I've covered previously. I've always done tutorials with the drawing finished already. The rendering like 3D passes is still similiar, but refined
@lotet - Yeah! Didn't the two of us enter in a concept art competition hosted by Sweden Game Awards? Japp, det var länge sedan! Jag hette samma som här, "kaktuzlime"
New concept! Made for a card-game I'm toying with, and I gave the concept to be modelled by Shane Olson.
I had to look up your old Concept art profile to recognize you to be honest, your style is so different now, and the general quality of work so much higher.
haha, well if 10 years of work didnt show you would be doing something seriously wrong =P really love that last piece, not sure about everyone else, but personally I love when you return to old characters like this.
do you have a backstory or a shared universe for them or is it just random ideas?
Great art man. i also remember you from Ye Olde Conceptart.org days. In your last image look at the guy's trapezius. It's assymetrycal - the right part looks much shorter than the left one.
@lotet - Thanks dude! Your art has evolved like crazy too! Love your 3d Most of my chars come from different universes, though sometimes there's overlap. One day I'll do a comic in one universe XD
@mnxoh - Thanks dude! I appreciate it You might be right about the Trapz, although I think it might have something to do with hair-overlap and camera-angle. Then again, anatomy isn't my strong suit. Cheers!
one day, when I get a time machine, Im gonna freeze time and model all of characters. I want to make one of your pieces in 3D, but I cant decide which, they are all so good
I imagine it refers to the fact that you can create an adjustment layer in photoshop that acts like a HueSat adjustment or Curves adjustment in the layer stack, applying the effect to layers below but not above, without changing them. It can be masked out to apply to certain areas, and by setting the layer to screen or overlay it blends the resulting adjustment appropriately.

I want to do that too! They are soo good!
Love your use of light and colour!
can you elaborate a bit about the "seperate hue/sat layer" part? what do you mean with its an adjustment layer?
