Noob question for 3DS max

Hello, when I'm making a box selection, it simply goes through all polygons/faces/edges, how do I stop this from happening? Couldn't find it anywhere on the internet.

What exactly do you want it to do instead? Are you using Polygon sub-object mode in Editable Poly? Or are you selecting a bunch of objects?

A screenshot of your problem would help.

Hey, sorry for my lack of information, basically, when holding down mouse 1, you can make a box selection, then when you use it to select some polygons/edges, it simply goes through the whole mesh, what I want is not for this to happen, just select the ones that I see.
