Solved: Reflection material

Hi, I want a reflection material on the side mirrors of my car, and a transparency material on the headlight glass, please explain the steps on how can I do that.

Hey Rikrok4!

Are you using metallic or specular workflow? I'll assume metallic for now -
For the reflection material, simply create a color layer, and give it a black Albedo, a metallic of 1 (white) and a low Roughness of 0.1 - 0.2.
This should give you a great primer for a reflective side mirror.

As for transulcent/transparent maps - at the top right drop down of DDO, add a new Opacity Map and modify the values to your desire.

I tried steps for mirror effect, but still I don't get the reflection at all (not even close). Please help.
I want to mention here that I have tried "steel scratched " material and it gives me an ok ok effect, but still I am away from the effect I want. Please try other steps and let me know.

The steps listed above are all you should need to do to get a functional mirror-like reflection - there really isn't much else we can do here. Could you show an image of the result you're getting?

This is probably because your mirrors aren't included with the mask for your glass material.

You'll need to add the UVs of your mirrors to the mask in order for them to show up on your model. If they're already in the mask, then something is above that layer which is overriding the mask.

Remember that something reflective is essentially fully smooth so wherever the mirrors are on the roughness map it should be black...then you could proceed to adjust your reflections with a map layered over that....
