How do I repair the broken edges on this Ink 'N Paint render?

As the title states, how can I repair the edges that are broken during the render? I don't feel like having to paint them back in Photoshop, and I am certain that there is an easy way to do so.

I used the default Ink 'N Paint settings, with a Mental Ray renderer.

Have you tried playing with the underlap overlap settings in the material.

Yes I have! Disabling / enabling them doesn't repair the problem

Smoothing groups help, but it's still not perfect

Just use some lines in Photoshop. 10 minute job, tops.
