3ds max weight painting tool

I am trying to do some weight painting on my model. So I have Envelope selected and the bone selected and finally Paint Weights selected so I can paint values for this particular bone. But for the life of me I cant figure out out to paint exactly the value I want. I unselected "paint blend weights" Where is the ability to paint the exact weight amount I want? thanks

Painting Weights is probably the most awkward way to skin a model. I suggest vertex weighting. It sounds tedious, but you'll be done much faster than monkeying around with the paint tool.

But to do what you want open the Painter Options dialog. Change Min and Max Strength to 1. And change the fall off curve the the last flat option.

Fully agree with @monster , painting and envelope fiddling are a very tedious way to skin. Assigning weights at the vert level with the table and scripts is much more efficient.
