3ds max 2017 - Snapping pivot point and editPoly

Hi guys

Actually can i change the pivot point with vertex snapping when my object is in editPoly in max 2017? Or is it just un bug like it's said on other thread's forum

By the way, sorry also for my lack of rigor...

Here is the link where max's users are talking about the issue. I discovered the same method to override the problem (i use a primitive mesh instead of a duplication of my mesh) : http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/3ds-max-3ds-max-design-general/snap-problem-3ds-max-2017/td-p/6287742

The step by step

1. Create primitive, then extrude it etc to create a static mesh

2. Time to setup the pivot point for the export to the engine.

3. I go to hierarchy> pivot> adjust pivot>affect pivot only

4. Activation of 3d snap, setup of the snaps (vertex), desactivation of "enable axis constraint"

---> Here is the issue 5. Time to "attach" the pivot point to the vertex.

Observation of the issue

1. The vertex snap actually works ! But it doesn't work with the object itself.

2. The vertex snap works with other objects (it's with this observation I developped an alternative way of snapping)

So

I have a solution, but i'm not happy with that, i'm not supposed to do that in this way.

I was wondering if there were a solution to get this snapping pivot definitively fixed.

Works fine for me in Max 2016. I am able to snap the pivot from an Editable Poly object's creation center to the same object's vertex.

Sorry I don't have 2017 installed to test, I never install the latest version because there are always bugs to be fixed. Maybe you should use 2016 instead, or 2015. My employer uses 2015 only, and I do freelance work for a client that uses 2012 only.

This is a bug with the Max 2017 release i heard from other people too: Vertex snap with edit poly seems buggy/not working
I'm not sure if this has been reported already so please do so using the following defect report form

As the previous poster wrote, it does'nt seem to be fixed in SP1.
SP2 has'nt been released yet, so currently this issue is still open for people on SP1

It still seems bugged for me. Works fine in 2013 but not 2017.

this is a simple fix , just uncheck Enable Axis Constraints in the snap dialogue options menu.
