Going to jump in on this. Just spent a while going through the tools and think I understand it now. I'm looking to 70s/80s pinball machines and Sci-Fi propaganda art. Red and white feel like the most constant theme in my ref so I'll be going from there. I'd say this piece sums of the bulk of the inspiration.

Did some sketches and settled on this for the Star Team Alpha logo... Also changing the name from Space Force to Star Team Alpha. Feels more 70s. Will refine it and color it then it goes on the handle.

Tried to keep the logo very 70s but it doesn't read too well on the handle. Thinking of keeping basically just the star in the circle. I'll probably make some adjustments if I do that. May need to just make that part of the handle dark also for contrast...

I've done a number of passes on it now but I took it back a tad since I think less is more with a simple idea like this. I tried to keep it very simple to feel like the sidearm of some 70s sci fi special forces adventure team. Think thunderbirds, buck rogers, flash gordon, or any of the sci fi serials from that time period.

I'm seeing a lot of skins that are simply paintings applied to the weapon so I think I'm going to try to do something like that for another submission too before the end. Good luck everyone!

Thanks! Keeping it simple can be difficult in it's own way haha. But I really like this process so I'm going to make a few more desert eagles I think and try a few different methods.
