Left click right clicks - maya 2016 issue

Hey Guys.

We are a few people here at work that are using maya'16 at a new project, and it seems that occasionally it gets in a loop where it keeps acting like you right click when you use the left mouse button.
It can be reset by resetting your tool (Ex: press W again). However it is super annoying and I was hoping someone has a solution as I haven't been able to find one at this point.

We have no problems in other version of maya or other software, so shouldn't be hardware related.

Anyone else had it happen or found a way out of it?

Ah yes happens to me in Maya 2014.. to me it seems to be related to the uv editor.. I could be wrong though.

I've a similar-ish thing if I've held and dragged outside of a tearout window, say the UV editor. Usually this is for a hotkey modifier, like d to adjust pivot for example, like it's inverted (always adjusting pivot). Usually I can fix it by clicking outside of that window and back in again, or tapping that hotkey with another pane/window in focus.

Yeah I've had that one with the "d" for edit pivot as well. Funny stuff.. but as long as you can fix it..
I just tried it and it really happens everytime, good to know the reason now.

Well I never quite found an actual fix, just a workaround.
too bad i guess. Maybe in 2017.

If you double tap W, E, or R you can reset it. (Meaning physically type "WW")
