Hey guys... between working fulltime and whatnot, I hardly get any time to work on personal stuff, but I needed a little break this weekend, so I started something new! Dunno how long it will take before I get to start UVing and texturing this bad boy, but I knocked out this modeling over the weekend.
Check it out and comment or critique or whatever.

Theres some parts obscured in shadow or just not shown in the above concept, so I'm pulling from other Creaturebox stuff for inspiration and ref:

Finally got a little time to open this guy up again... UVs are done.. Ill start the texturing probably in the next week or so. Can't wait=D

Haha, love the concept. Although I would scale up the head a little. The proportions of the first drawing makes it look cute.

I think you're missing out on one of the coolest parts of the concept, which is the size relations. The head and arms are HUGE compared to the body and especially legs, but in your 3d version it became very generic, humanoid proportions. It's a good idea to put your character in the pose even while working on the model, you can see it way better then.

Your concept is bad ass and would sell your character immediatly.
Razz nailed it saying that those concepts proportions are very missing in 3D

As your concept has a bit of Popeye (except Popeyes long torso) the 3D model misses a lot of this charme.I would not have posted, if your concept wouldn't be way too cool.

Yes, I know, after all the work you spent on UVing...

Thanks guys. I'll resize the head and arms and give him a rudimentary pose and post up the results before texturing this bad boy.

Got a chance to work on this guy again this weekend and made a serious stride. Reconfiggled some proportions, but kept others due to preference. I'll try to get some better presentation shots later, but these are in UE4 and a sketchfab link.
