Hi guys, sry if im asking this in wrong place but i dont find anyone more apropriated for this question.

Whats the best solution to create in-game skill effects like fireballs, lightning and so one?

Appreciate any info, tutorials, workshops, anything will be welcome.

Which engine are you using? Most have their own built in VFX makers. Or are you asking more about where to find tutorials?

Im using Unity, and i already do somethings... i just thought that i could do it in something like maya or other better software and import it into the game... so i ask wts the best way.

And the tutorials of unity particle system are very simplistic effects... i cant find nothing too comples like a tornado or and are os effect ground lava or a semi-transparente shiled when i activate the skill

most real time FX is primitive shapes combined with animated shaders and particles, and probably a healthy bit of scripting. all of which is better done in engine than maya or max. I'd try looking for free vfx assets from unity store and dissecting those.

Shuriken is pretty powerful, but true, there is not much information out there. What Hito proposed is also exactly what I did when I had to understand it. I'd say think more about how you can 'trick' the effect, rather than trying to simulate something, like you might do in Maya. I usually combine simple geo with a variation of animated alphas.
