Stylised Forest Environment (Unity5)

Hey Guys and Girls,

I've been given permission to show the progress and get feedback on a stylised forest enironment built for Unity 5.
It'll be based off this concept art -

However, I've been given style references of this

So I'm trying to get an interesting mix between the style reference and the concept art.

Here's where it's at so far -

I'll be updating as I progress but I'd love to hear thoughts and critique on how I can get closer to the reference and style guide.

really nice so far, can you get the leaves on the tree to respond to the lighting more like in the concept, so a bit of it is top lit and bright and the rest has like an sss effect?

I think the forms of tree bark in the concept are much more following a bigger flow,form and common surface despite being broken up in places. There are cleaner parts and several flows are bundled and clearly separated from each other. The 3d version seems more random and harder to read in comparison.

Looks like a good start. Are you making the environment larger than the concept snippet?
